Abstract
The present paper highlights knowledge and acceptance level of livestock owners towards organic animal husbandry practices related to animal wellness maintenance in arid areas of Rajasthan. The survey was conducted in Barmer and Bikaner district of Rajasthan. A total of 120 livestock owners were selected from 8 selected villages of 4 tehsils namely Sheo, Chohtan, Lunkaransar and Kolayat. The findings of the study revealed that livestock owners had highest knowledge and ranked first for deworming in animals (1.00) and the lowest knowledge was found in the mode of approach used for treatment (0.42) where as highest adoption was found in isolation of the sick animals as ranked first among different health care practices with adoption index 100 and lowest adoption was found in the person whom the owners’ first contact for treatment with adoption index 11.1.
