Abstract
The present study was conducted to evaluate the sensitivity of bacteria in the cervical mucus of endometritic cows against various antibacterial drugs in far flung tribal locations of Himachal Pradesh. The cervico-vaginal discharge (CVD) samples were collected from 137 suspected endometritic cows during various infertility treatment camps in Pangi, Bharmaur, Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti districts/sub-divisions of Himachal Pradesh. Maximum sensitivity was recorded for gentamycin (89.8%) followed by ciprofloxacin (88.3%), metronidazole (8.7%) and penicillin (28.2%) were recorded as the least sensitive antibacterial drugs in vitro.
